Life cycle of seats in sports stadiums

One of the important items of the construction or renovation of a sports facility are its seats. Security elements, they define and organize the capacity of the venue, differentiate zones, provide comfort to the spectators, but also communicate the colors or the image of the club. And the thing is there are many factors to take into account to capitalize on the investment made in installing new seats.

Influential factors on the lifetime of sports seats

The duration of a seat varies depending on the climatic conditions of each area, and is very different if the installation is carried out indoors or outdoors. All Daplast Seating seats are certified by the Aidimme (Metalworking, Furniture, Wood, Packaging and Allied Technological Institute, formerly Aidima) and comply with European resistance regulations in severe public use. Our stadium seats are made of plastic materials highly resistant to UVA rays, and have minimum fire resistance according to European standard EN 1021 (parts 1 and 2). In good conditions of maintenance and cleaning – it is recommended not to use bleach or abrasive products on their surface – quality seats can have a very high lifespan.

The obsolescence of the seat is not the only reason for change. The improvement of the comfort, the change of image of the stadium, or the reforms to increase the available capacity, are also usual reasons that motivate to replace the seats, always depending on the type of enclosure. In fact, first-class stadiums renew more often their bleachers than others.
